At Little Lyceum Montessori, we teach children the habit of excellence

The Montessori method we use creates an ordered, stable environment in which children have the space to develop their personas.  Aristotle had the insight that those personas are comprised of just one thing: habits.  So at Little Lyceum Montessori, we teach excellent habits which lead children to a mastery of skills, starting with becoming excellent at hanging up their coats, or pouring liquid.  In a few years those habits of excellence underwrite their success multiplying four digits and solving the trinomial cube.

"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."
